The new Thor movie has been rumored since the release of “Thor: Ragnarok” in 2018. In January of 2021, they have begun filming and gossiping about the plot and the characters are spreading like wildfire.

“I like the Thor movies a lot,” junior Ryen Tindall said. “I always watch them with my dad when they come out around my birthday. This movie is overdue, honestly.”

The film is part of phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the time period of films coming out between 2021 and 2023, according to cinemablend.com. Chirs Hemsworth supposedly has signed a contract that will get him through “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” according to gamesradar.com. However, these are rumors.

“I’m nervous about ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ being the last we see of Thor in the MCU,” senior Bradley Winscher said. “I’m not ready to part ways with him.”

The new movie features characters never seen before and characters of the past. One of the returning characters is Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman.

“I have a good feeling about her,” Winscher said. “I read she’s putting in a lot of work. Now that the Thor franchise has been revived I feel like she’ll take more interest and care into her character.”

One of the new characters coming to the series is Gorr the God Butcher who is played by Christian Bale.

“Christian is a very good choice [for Gorr],” Winscher said. “He is a splendid actor who is capable of portraying difficult and complex characters very well.”

Although the hammer Molijnor was destroyed in “Thor: Ragnarok,” word on the street is that it will return in “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

“I’m hip, the hammer is original, it has to return,” Winscher said.

The Thor franchise is currently available on Disney+. “Thor: Love and Thunder” has a current release date of February 2022, but is subject to change.

“I’m very excited to see what happens with this,” Tindall said. “I think it’ll be amazing.”
