“The Book of Boba Fett”
Releasing new episodes throughout the month of January, this Disney+ original is an addition to the “Star Wars” franchise. In the series, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) is a bounty hunter returning to the desert planet of Tatooine alongside mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) to claim land previously ruled by the deceased Jabba the Hutt, all according to imdb.com.

“Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters in the ‘Star Wars’ films,” junior Gray Agler said. “It’s so cool to see his character in action again, especially in his own series.”

“The Sandlot”
The 1993 classic, “The Sandlot,” is a comedic film that centers around a group of boys who play baseball together. After they hit an autographed Babe Ruth baseball that they were not allowed to play with, over the fence, they must now retrieve it. “The Sandlot” made its appearance on Disney+ on Jan. 7, according to disneyplusinformer.com.

“It feels like I grew up with that movie,” sophomore Victoria Gattino said. “I was rewatching it with my parents the other day, and it really reminded me of simpler times in my childhood.”

“Betty White Goes Wild!”
In celebration of actress Betty White’s 100th birthday, this documentary special was released on the streaming service on Jan. 14. The National Geographic documentary will show White as she explores the Los Angeles and San Diego zoos, observing the behavior and challenges that big cats go through in their everyday lives in the wild, according to whatsondisneyplus.com.

“Assembled: The Making of Hawkeye”
“Assembled” is an ongoing anthology series that showcases the behind-the-scenes action of multiple Marvel series and films, according to marvel.com. Having premiered on Jan. 19, this episode dives into the backstage aspects of the “Hawkeye” series. The episode explores the on-set experience of actors such as Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).

Season 3 of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”
“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is a musical drama series that takes place at East High School, following characters Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) and Ricky (Joshua Bassett) as they navigate their way through the ups and downs of high school. The show already has two seasons and has been renewed for a 3rd, which Disney+ has confirmed will release sometime in 2022, according to popbuzz.com.

“Eternals”
A new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Eternals” follows the story of a race of immortals who have lived on Earth for thousands of years. Rising out of the shadows, the Eternals reunite to protect mankind from its worst enemy, the deviants. This film was added to the Disney+ catalog on Jan. 12, according to marvel.com.

“I liked the hidden humor it had,” Gattino said. “It helped lighten the mood when the tone was dark.”

“Lightyear”
Focusing on the popular space ranger character from “Toy Story,” this Pixar film’s release date is June 17, 2022. The movie will expand on the origin story and adventures of Buzz Lightyear, according to imdb.com.

“Willow”
This series is an upcoming fantasy based on the 1988 film with the same name. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2022. Warwick Davis is set to reprise his role as Willow Ufgood, a dwarf sorcerer who protected infant Elora Danan from the evil queen Bavmorda in the original film, according to imdb.com.
