The Bachelorette is a popular reality television show produced by American Broadcasting Company (ABC). In this show, there is one bachelorette and 20-30 contestants looking for love. In the latest season of the Bachelorette, Clare Crawley and Dale Moss ended the show early with an engagement. Crawley would not spend time with the other contestants and insisted that Moss was the one, essentially ending the show early, and having to bring in a new bachelorette. This engagement, however, was soon cut off, and Moss went to Instagram to share the news.

“I wanted to share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time,” Moss said on his Instagram story.

Moss confidently shared this with his following, however in return, Crawley shared a different approach to her following.

“I was made aware of a mutual statement at the same time you all were, so I’ve needed some time to really digest this,” Crawley said. “Speaking for myself, my intentions for this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed. This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.”

Clare’s post had fans shocked when they heard her input.

“I was shocked when Clare said that she was made aware at the same time as the fans,” said senior Paige Fitton. “I do not think Dale handled it well at all if that is true because their relationship was so public they had to strategically announce it.”

Even fans of Moss shared sympathy with Crawley and her situation.

“I liked Dale and I think his post was mature,” said Junior Bryelle Hartmann. “I just don’t know how I would feel in her situation if she genuinely was unaware that he was going to say that.”

In this season of the Bachelorette, Moss had caught Crawley’s eyes on night one. Crawley had set her mind on Moss and knew he was exactly what she had wanted. When the Bachelorette ended with their engagement, they were to be seen on Instagram and other social media platforms being very happy together. About a week before the breakup was announced, fans started speculating rumors.

“She had known him for two weeks before getting engaged, so I think everyone knew that was probably coming,” Hartmann said.

There was talk about how Moss had a career in New York, while Crawley wanted to stay in California with her sick mom. They both had different approaches on how they wanted to live their lives, so it was not a surprise to some when they had started to take some time away from each other. Of course, as soon as they had started distancing from each other, the rumors started to spread and soon the word had gotten out.

“I do think [being long distance] could have been a huge issue in their relationship,” Fitton said. “If neither of them were willing to change their lifestyle it was never going to work out. You have to be able to compromise in your relationship and I don’t think either party was willing since they didn’t even know each other that well.”

Moss ended his Instagram story by saying, “We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself, something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives.”

Crawley expressed her ending thoughts by concluding with, “Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I was genuinely invested with all of my heart. I may not have all the answers, but I do know this, I will continue to show up, stand by my word, and be committed to love.”
