The 2016 American Music Awards Ceremony on Sunday was a night to remember, jam packed with guest appearances by America’s favorite celebrities and exciting performances from some of the best music talent of the year. But if you did not see it all go down, do not fret, The Roar has all the details on what you missed.

Bruno Marks kicked off the night with a high-energy performance of his new song, “24K Magic”.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid and comedian Jay Pharoah co-hosted the night and started it off with a series of cringe worthy comments about President Elect, Trump. Pharaoh, a well-known impersonator in the comedy community, poked fun at Trump’s mannerisms, which was followed by laughter from the audience. Hadid then took the stage with her impersonation of the soon to be first lady, Melania Trump.

Next, Niall Horan performed his new hit solo, “This Town”, which preceded a very confident performance by the dynamic all girl group, FIfth Harmony, singing “That’s My Girl” from their new album, “7/27”.

It is safe to say that The Chainsmokers and Halsey had the crowd energized and on their feet while performing their new hit duo, “Closer”. Afterwards, English singer-songwriter James Bay slowed down the night with his song, “Let It Go”.

Shawn Mendes, a Canadian singer who rose to fame on social media, performed two of his new songs, “Mercy” and “Treat You Better”, from his recently released album, “Illuminate”.

Later in the night, artist of the year, Ariana Grande strutted the stage with knee-high boots in a steamy performance of “Side to Side”. Friend and fellow artist Nicki Minaj shared the stage with Grande and had the crowd begging for more.

Alternative Duo, Twenty One Pilots, captured the attention of the crowd with their extremely visual mashup of “Stressed Out” and “Heathens”.

Other artists that performed included The Weeknd, John Legend, Lady Gaga, Green Day and Sting. This all led up to a co-performance with Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar, who sang their new song, “Don’t Wanna Know”.

Overall, it is safe to say the 2016 American Music Awards Ceremony was a superb night of entertainment for both the audience in attendance and viewers across the nation watching at home.
