It is Monday morning. First, you wake up late and then you spill your cereal on your clothes. Not to mention, you have a test second hour. Although coffee cannot turn back time, wash your clothes or take that dreaded biology test, it can make your morning just a little bit better. The coffee bar located in the commons is a wonderful place for students to stop for a pick-me-up.

“It’s the perfect time to stop because you can pick up a quick breakfast, which means you don’t have to wake up early to eat or make a stop for breakfast before you come to school,” coffee barista Tracie McDonnell said.

The coffee bar has cappuccinos, lattes and iced coffees. There are many syrups to choose from, so add one to the coffee for a different taste. Additionally, if a student purchases the flavor of the month latte, it is a reduced price. If one is not a big fan of coffee, they also serve smoothies, hot and cold teas, Mountain Dew Kickstarts and Sparkling Ice Caffeine drinks.

“I think the coffee bar is a great addition to West High, and we have the honor of being the first coffee bar in the district,” McDonnel said. “I love being able to interact with students and staff.”
