Summer Lookbook
Discover a new summer style with these few simple outfits to mix and match with.
Curating outfits and aesthetics for the beginning of the school year is just one task to complete for the months ahead. Though coming up with a new style for the school time is enjoyable, some outfits created may conflict with one’s comfortability during the remaining hot months. Along with ongoing trends and style, convenience and versatility are important factors for the typical teenager looking for a new look. Luckily, these two factors can be combined to make an unforgettable aesthetic for the school year ahead.
LOOK #1:
These striped gaucho pants paired with a white crop top and wedges are the epitome of chic. Although these are pants, the material is light and flowy enough to wear throughout the still hot weather without feeling too warm. Along with the comfort aspect of these pants, the vertical, blue stripes elongate the legs and make for a flattering look for anyone. Given that the pants are the signature piece of this look, a simple white crop top and a pair of black wedges accompanied with them makes for a simplistic, but stylish look.
“I really loved this outfit,” junior Betty Palmero said. “It was something I wouldn’t normally wear but after trying it on I definitely am in love with it. It’s so chic and stylish and is great for any occasion.”
LOOK #2:
Serving as a more girly look, outfit number two is perfect for someone who is looking for a more dressed up outfit. What makes this pink, floral maxi dress perfect for the hot months is the lightweight and airy material. Cinching at the waist and having a slight, high-low style makes this dress appealing to the eye and perfect to sport throughout the summertime.
“This has to be one of my favorite outfits I tried on,” Palmero said. “I love how airy and light the dress is and how the shoes totally pull the outfit together.”
LOOK #3:
This look is the perfect casual, go to outfit. Simply, but still very stylishly, this oversized vertically striped shirt is paired with dark wash jeans. This outfit is perfect for any ordinary school day but is still cute enough to be eye-catching. Completed with a pair of studded sandals, this look is an ideal casual outfit with a pop of spunk.
“This is a casual outfit that still stands out,” Palmero said. “I love how comfortable I am but how put together the outfit is.”
LOOK #4:
Upon first examining this look, the thing that crosses one’s mind is the word “stylish.” The tweed navy and cream horizontal striped skirt makes for the focal point. This striking skirt is paired with a cream, lightweight tank top to balance the ensemble. To polish and enhance this outfit is a pair of heeled, tan sandals.
“I think of this outfit is being business chic,” Palmero said. “I totally see this outfit being for anyone who needs a cute outfit to any business occasion.”
LOOK #5:
Completing this series of looks is an off-the-shoulder baby doll dress. This lightweight dress is perfect for getting dressed up but not feeling confined. This off-the-shoulder is accompanied with light blue vertical stripes to make the look a bit more eye-catching. To add a finishing touch, heeled, lace up, tan sandals complete this trendy ensemble.
“I love this outfit because it’s very cute and simplistic if you’re a more simple girl but you want to dress up,” said Palmero.
