An additional Monday and Tuesday added on to Halloween weekend opened new possibilities for students to enjoy fall break. While some relaxed, many also used this time to enjoy hobbies that they would not be able to do during a normal weekend.
“For fall break, I am going hunting because I got pulled for a draw to go hunting,” sophomore Koen Grant said. “I love being out with nature because it is what God created, and I can just sit out there. It’s peaceful, and I love hunting animals and getting to go and enjoy that with my dad.”
Some use this time to rest from activities by choosing to stay at home instead.
“I usually will always have practice for soccer, but for fall break I can sit down and relax and try to play games a little because that is what I like to do in my free time,” sophomore Mohammed Qasem said.
Many students vacationed at resorts or visited family and took the opportunity to travel.
“I’m going to Tennessee over fall break to spend time with my grandparents,” sophomore Mac Marlowe said. “I like hanging out with my family and I like eating food there.”
Others looked to the future and took trips to determine where to continue their education.
“I am going on a college visit to SEMO during fall break,” junior Aubrey Bernstein said. “I am going on a tour there and am specifically touring the voice and singing department. I got to talk to a professor from that department. I am looking forward to seeing what the program offers because it is something that I am passionate about and a school that I am definitely interested in.”
