In football, like in life, it is important to have leaders. Those who can lead are able to motivate others when spirits are down. The teams’ coaches have selected the following athletes to fulfill this crucial role and to drive our football teams to victory.
Name: Grayson Ellett
Position: Left guard
Team: Varsity
Q: What would you say is your favorite part about football?
A: Definitely game days. Just being with the guys, getting hyped up for games, playing the games and just the whole gameday process.
Q: Who or what got you into football?
A: Friends that already played and then my dad. They said that I don’t have to stay playing it, but I at least need to try it.
Q: Who is your football role model?
A: Probably Coach Pike just because he’s obviously the head coach, and he teaches you how to be a better football player, but also to be a better man.
Name: Trey Bobo
Position: Tight end
Team: Freshman
Q: Why did you decide to play football?
A: I picked football because I was kind of born into a football family. My brother went here and he went Division 1, so I just gotta keep that going.
Q: Who is your favorite football player?
A: DK Metcalf is my favorite player because he felt that dog in him, and that’s what I aspire to do every day. When I go out there and play now, I want to set the tone.
Q: Do you like high school football more than middle school?
A: I don’t know, I feel [high school football] is more free. I like the environment better, it’s way more energetic, for sure.
Name: Cameron Youngberg
Position: Center & Nose Guard

Q: What makes football so thrilling?
A: The physicality. I mean, scoring is really fun.
Q: Would you say that you like high school football more than middle school?
A: Yeah, it’s a lot more physical, definitely a lot more competitive.
Q: What are you looking forward to this season?
A: Hopefully have a winning season, you know, go out, have fun and really just work on improving myself.
Name: Aiden Mincher
Position: Quarterback & Safety
Team: Freshman
Q: What are you looking forward to this season?
A: We have a lot of guys this year. We haven’t had a lot of guys in the past, so I think we’ll be pretty good this year.
Q: What is your favorite part about football?
A: My favorite part of football is probably just throwing the ball, just being out there.
Q: Why did you pick to play football?
A: My dad played football. My other brother plays football. I kind of just fell into that role. And then once I started playing, I liked it a lot.
Name: Clayton O’Bryan
Position: Quarterback
Team: Varsity
Q: Do you think there is a big difference between middle school and high school football?
A: I definitely think there’s a big difference. I think practicing every day, playing one time a week, is definitely different from practicing two times a week and then playing once a week.
Q: Who got you into football?
A: Definitely my family. My dad’s family was a big football family, so taking things in from them and just keep continuing on the legacy.
Q: Is there anything you want to tell me that you didn’t?
A: I think that everyone should experience a Friday Night Lights game and go to the game and be in the same section and cheer us on. It’s pretty fun.
Name: Peyton Rasmussen
Position: Wide receiver & Safety

Q: Why do you like high school football more than middle school?
A: The atmosphere is a lot better. There’s a lot more fans for high school football than middle school, and high school football matters, it’s a lot more serious.
Q: Who is your role model?
A: [My dad has] just always been teaching me up since I was young, and always keeps me accountable and gets me through everything.
Q: Why did you decide to play football?
A: I’ve just always felt a connection to football. I feel like I’m pretty good at it.
