Trying to be the trendiest teen in high school can be a demanding task, both financially and physically. No one needs an entire new wardrobe, but a few statement pieces can put anyone at the top of their class.
Step down the catwalk with style. Buying new shoes for the school year is a must, invest in shoes that are stylish but also comfortable. Brands such as Nike, New Balance, and Adidas are all wallet friendly and edgy. Not only will it give confidence, it will also ease the mind knowing that their feet will pain free throughout the day while their bank account is not drained.
“I like Adidas shoes,” senior Logan Tulk said. “Not only are they comfy, but they go with anything. I highly recommend these to anyone.”
Even though it does not seem like colder seasons are arriving anytime soon, the fall and winter months are quickly approaching. Try to go out and look for a nice jacket or coat. These are staples in the colder months especially in Missouri with freezing or below zero temperatures. For an more affordable and stylish choice you can go to local retailers, such as H&M, Burlington, or even TJ Maxx.
“Bomber jackets are my go to, to give my outfit a little something extra.” junior Alexis Mueller said “They can easily be used in fall or the winter.”
It is very important to find a good pair of pants, many retailers have high quality pants at a fair price. Jeans, sweatpants, and leggings is primarily worn during the school year. No matter what shape or style someone desires, one can find them at a local retailer.
“I like going to Hollister for my pants,” junior Zoe Juma said. “I’m fairly short, so finding pants that fit my height are a big plus for me.”
Being bold can be demanding for some, but anyone can still be bold and stylish at the same time by just picking up a few accessories. Buying a printed scarf is simple but understated and is a good way to show one’s personality through their style.
“I’m more fashion forward, and I like to reflect that in my style,” senior Ally Smith said. “Somedays it may be my sunglasses other days it may be a choker. I like to do whatever makes my personality shine through.”
Everybody is unique in their own way and should show that through their style. Standing out from the crowd is a good way to get to know new people and this may help some begin a fresh start.
Once said by Coco Chanel, “In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
