The Struggle of Fake Nails
Fake nails have blown up in the fashion industry. Elaborate designs became a popular trend on instagram and has since begun to seep into everyday life. As beautiful as these works of art are, living with them is challenge taken on by the strongest of the strong.
- Getting Them Done: Having fake nails professionally done can take anywhere from 45 minutes to a couple of hours. Many people enjoy the process of getting them done, but it is not a brief ordeal. It can also be challenging to find the right technician at the right price.
- Typing: Typos are already challenging to avoid, but with long nails, typing will just go out the window. Everyone around will constantly be annoyed with all of that tapping. Voice-to-text features will be the nail lover’s best friend
- Clothes and Accessories: Everyday task such as buttons, zippers and clasps become impossible. Dressing will require an army or at least one other person to put everything together
- Breaking Them: Two options, getting to the salon as fast as possible or taking all of them off. There are no other options. If one breaks, they might as well all be done for because no one walks around with only nine nails.
- Removing Them: A treacherous task not for the faint of heart, only the strongest and the bravest will be able succede. The best way to remove acrylic nails is to soak them in acetone. The method that professionals typically use is to soak a cotton ball in acetone, places it on the nail and wraps it in aluminum foil to keep it on for 30 minutes. However, it will still require the jaws of life to get them off. When they are finally removed, the nail underneath looks like it just came back from war. They are thin and weak and they will probably need a little boost after being hidden for months.
Little things become quite a challenge when wearing fake nails but the payoff is completely worth it. Whomever overcomes this feat, appears to be a fierce royal commanding everything in their presence.
