Makeup Subscriptions
Makeup subscriptions have become popular not only among the beauty community, but even those who are just the slightest bit interested in trying new makeup products. With the many options available, it is helpful to know what each subscription offers. Ipsy, Birchbox and Boxycharm are all makeup subscription services with their own perks and quirks about them. Each of these services make beauty shopping a little less stressful, ensuring that each product is tailored to your preferences.
Ipsy: Ipsy is a $10 per month makeup subscription that was created by beauty YouTuber, Michelle Phan, according to ipsy.com. By filling out a survey describing everything from eye color to hair texture, Ipsy is able to send a variety of five sample or full sizes of makeup. These products can vary from high end or averagely priced hair and skin products tailored to your liking and preference.
“I like to be able to experiment with [Ipsy subscription makeup],” senior Madori Heiken said. “It gives you a little trial.”
Birchbox: Like Ipsy, Birchbox is a $10 per month service that will tailor to one’s hair color, skin type, and even fragrance preference. Each month, Birchbox will deliver five personalized sample sizes to the subscriber’s front door with product descriptions.
“You get a variety of [products] for cheap,” senior Hailey Myers said. “It’s really cute packaging and it’s new and different every month.”
Boxycharm: The most expensive out of the three, Boxycharm subscriptions cost $21 per month. The four or five full sized products this subscription provides monthly will add up to a value of $100 or more. This service will ask questions regarding the subscriber’s beauty preferences and styles. Due to the products of high value, however, there is a waiting list to fully become a member, so do not wait to subscribe.
“Brands range from emerging to established, and you’re guaranteed to find a few new favorites in each box,” according to boxycharm.com.
Subscribing to a makeup subscription service allows people to try new products and receive beauty items in the mail monthly. While there are many choices, there is one that will fit best with everybody’s wants and wishes. By signing up for a beauty subscription box, the stress revolved around finding new makeup is eliminated, and if interested in trying new and catered beauty products, Ipsy, Birchbox or Boxycharm may be the perfect one.
