Netflix has become one of the main ways of consuming media in 2018. With 125 million subscribers worldwide, according to statista.com, it is easily one of the top streaming services on the market. With this popularity, Netflix is able to boast a lineup of countless binge-worthy shows, including multiple original series.

The Office

The Office is not only binge-worthy but has many qualities that make it rewatchable. Michael Scott leads an office for a paper company with Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly and Dwight Schrute all of whom are followed around by a camera crew. The seamless comedy, as well as Jim and Pam’s relationship progression, draws the audience in. All of these qualities make The Office a truly great show.

Jane The Virgin

Jane The Virgin follows a young woman Jane Villanueva, who as a virgin is accidentally artificially inseminated. It follows her story through comedy, love and a touch of telenovela flare.

“I love the aesthetic of [Jane’s] family,” sophomore Macy Shields said. “Knowing that true love is out there even if we’re imperfect and we make mistakes really gives me hope.”

Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy follows Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Derek Shepherd and many other captivating characters as they navigate the complex lives of high level doctors. The audience gets insight into the hospital workplace, as well as an in-depth look at many of the characters intense personal lives.

“Grey’s Anatomy is the greatest show ever,” junior Mia Houston said. “You get to see the full story from where they start to where they end up. It’s stuff you do not get to see every day, there are loads of crazy stories throughout. It also has storylines outside the hospital that show the real life problems the characters go through.”

Riverdale

This show is a modern take on the Archie comics. It follows Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica and their friends as they discover more of the truth about the mysterious small town they call home.

“Riverdale is a great show,” Houston said. “There is so much mystery, thrill and excitement that you have to keep watching. I enjoy watching mysteries and trying to guess who did what. There are many other elements that make the show entertaining as well.”
