“Newspaper has become such a blessing in my life the past 3 years. Being able to channel my creativity and leadership into such an incredible program has been one of the greatest joys of my high school career. This program means the world to me.”

As editor in chief, senior Vanessa Onuoha hopes to challenge both herself and the rest of the staff to stretch themselves creatively to find the best stories and the greatest coverage in order to unlock the full potential of The Solitaire. Outside of journalism, Vanessa is a pineapple on pizza advocate and an entrepreneur trying to grow her photography business. If you ever need to pick her out of crowd, don’t fret; she’s almost six feet tall and has an afro-- she’s hard to miss.
