As their final summer before college approaches, seniors start to put into action their plans for after high school.
“I just recently committed to my college of choice,” Makenna Jennings said. “So I plan on focusing a lot of my time trying to get everything set in stone for college next year.”
With college, many students will stay on campus in a dorm room and need furniture and decorations to make it just right for them.
“I want to make sure my dorm for college is as comfy and cozy as possible,” Kaylin Zengil said. “So with some of my money saved up, I plan on going dorm shopping with my mom soon.”
With many students going to college, creating a financial plan is what some are doing over the summer before heading into adulthood.
“I have already applied to a couple of jobs so I can work a lot over the summer,” Allen Palmero said. “I am on a scholarship for college, but having extra money in my pocket is what I always strive for.”
On the other hand, some seniors plan on going with the flow this summer once they walk out of this high school building.
“I never really thought or planned out how I was going to spend my summer after high school,” Heidi Pickett said. “But after some thinking, I will spend most of my time hanging out with my friends and boyfriend.”
After graduation, some students plan to celebrate at graduation parties with their loved ones and families.
“I am having my graduation party right after graduation,” Karsyn McDaniel said. “I plan on having it at my house with both inside and outside for people to mingle, and I am very excited for it.”
Many seniors just want to enjoy their last summer being with all their families and friends being together one last time.
“I am going to college all the way in North Carolina,” Cody Hurt said. “So I plan on spending my time after high school attending all the graduation parties, hanging out with all my friends and getting prepared to leave what I have called home all my life.”
