Art is something that most students will do in their elementary school years, whether through art class or just random doodles. Some students, however, continue to follow that passion throughout their high school lives.

Q: How has your art changed as you have gone through the years?
A: I think with practice it has improved. When you’re little, you like markers, crayons and everything. Now I’ve gotten to the point where I love digital art, paint and all these different things, so definitely the medium has changed.
Q: How has your art style changed?
A: I feel like as a kid I would just draw anything, but I’m at the point where I really like to draw people, detailed things, posters and things like that.
Q: What do you like about high school art teachers?
A: I can get a lot more good feedback from them, and I get a lot closer with them because as a little kid I kind of just did my own thing and wanted to draw. Now I’m always wanting to improve and looking to see what I can learn.

Q: What got you interested in art?
A: My grandma. She always did art, and I always took an interest when she was doing it.
Q: What has been your favorite project you have done?
A: I really enjoyed making the mural as well as things involving ceramics.
Q: Who was your favorite art teacher?
A: Mr. Jones, my seventh grade teacher. He always made the class really fun and entertaining, and it never seemed like I was ever actually in a class.

Q: How would you say that your art has changed as you have gotten older?
A: As I grew up, I was able to find the style that I am more comfortable with and I am still growing into it. It changed from little kid art like little doodles into a more stylized kind of art. I like to draw more realistic but still with a cartoony feel to it.
Q: When did you start to get into art?
A: It started way back when I was younger. I watched a lot of my friends draw, and I was like, “Oh, that is cool, I’m gonna draw too.” I also really like fantasy.
Q: What has been your favorite art project?
A: There have been a couple of projects. A more recent one was when I made a narrative diorama of a video game. I think that is one of my favorites.
